Brazilians are certainly known as chicken and beef consumers, but as the middle class grows along with the country's per capita consumption of seafood, consumers are calling for new types of seafood products.

As the number of busy professionals in Brazil grows along with its middle class, more and more consumers want seafood meals they can prepare on the go,  Marcelo Eiger, research and development manager for Nativ Pescados, told IntraFish said.

Nativ, a producer whose processing facility is in the city of Sorriso and a farm 50 kilometers outside of the city, heard those calls loud and clear when it conducted market research in preparation for its 2013 plans.
