The president of Boulogne’s Chamber of Commerce, Francis Leroy, tells Fishing News International €220 million ($313 million) was invested into the effort.
Later this year, the first of companies to build on the cleared land will be opening its doors, and others are already in the process of starting construction.
Boulogne has a strong role as a logistics hub, and the chamber’s investment is to support this, with the primary objective of supporting the local seafood sector, while also providing additional possibilities for fruit and vegetable imports and exports, said Leroy.
