One undisclosed company is at the final stage of the process that could see it become certified within the next month or so, pending a final submission of data to the certification committee that makes the final verdict.
“We’re hoping something will emerge quite soon, but of course it takes time to get the right information and do it properly,” Andrew Jackson, technical director of the International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organization (IFFO), told IntraFish.
Some of the world's largest farmers, processors and retailers are involved in the scheme in advisory roles, including Marine Harvest, Birds Eye Iglo, and retailers Tescos and Sainsbury's.
