The Norwegian firm Kontali Analyse examined the accounts for Norwegian aquaculture companies for 1996-2004. On the basis of these figures, it is once again apparent it is the biggest companies that are most to blame for the negative impression the financial market has had at times of the aquaculture industry.
Kontali’s analysis shows, on average, smaller companies are coping better than the "big guns" because they are better at maintaining their focus on the day-to-day running of the business, in part because of their proximity to production.
