Bakkafrost tops salmon farming margins in Q4

IntraFish compared fourth-quarter margins per kilogram of stock-listed salmon farming companies, and a clear leader emerged: Faroese salmon farmer Bakkafrost

Bakkafrost is in a class of its own with NOK 16.53 (€1.9/$2.1) per kg in its aquaculture segment and NOK 19.48 (€2.3/$2.5) per kilo if sales and value-added processing (VAP) are included.

Marine Harvest had the best margins in Norway with NOK 15.01 (€1.7/$2) in the north and NOK 14.02 (€1.6/$1.8) in the west.

Bakkafrost was also best in the class for the third quarter, while Salmar was on top in Norway.
