Bakkafrost CEO Regin Jacobsen said his company has plans for growth, but denies investments will be made outside the Faroe Islands.

“We are focused on gaining better control over the lice situation here on the Faroe Islands, and once we have that it will also be possible to grow with today’s production licenses,” he said.

Bakkafrost owns the maximum number of production licenses permitted within current legislation in the Faroes and cannot acquire more.

“Several of our sites have considerably greater potential than is being utilized at the present time.
