Faroese salmon producer Bakkafrost is ready to ramp up exports of fresh salmon to Russia, following the announcement of the country will ban all fish and seafood imports from the European Union (EU), the United States, Norway, Australia and Canada.
Monday, Russian authorities said both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are not included in the ban.
Speaking to IntraFish ahead of the official announcement the Faroe Islands are excluded from the ban, the company's CEO Regin Jacobsen said once clarification was given, the company is ready to ramp up exports.
