Capture fisheries brought in 162,200 metric tons of fish in 2008, down 10 percent from the 179,400 metric tons caught in 2007, which itself was down 18 percent from 2006.
Value for the 2008 catch was CAD $280.6 million ($258 million/€176.8 million), down 11.1 percent from $312.3 million ($287.4 million/€196.8 million) in 2007.
