Greenpeace’s attempt to “peacefully” inspect tuna transport vessel Cabo Tinoso Dos in the Maltese port of La Valletta -- owned by Mare Blu Tuna Farm, part of Spanish tuna giant Ricardo Fuentes E Hijos – was not met benignly by the crew of the boat.

The photos don’t look good. Burly crewmen manhandle a female Greenpeace activist clinging to the edge of the vessel, cigarettes dangling contemptuously from lips set in sneers of disdain.

Greenpeace campaigner Francois Provost alleged one woman was punched in the head by the crew and thrown overboard.
