Australia's Northern Territory state authorities reached an agreement with Nissui-backed Seafarms to start works on the shrimp mega-farm Project Sea Dragon’s broodstock center and early hatchery facility.

Earlier this week, the operator opened a headquarters for Project Sea Dragon in Darwin to support the shrimp farm operations.

Project Sea Dragon signed its first contract with a Darwin based company to work on the Bynoe Harbour site.

The full project will involve construction of about 10,000 hectares of ponds and about 15,000 metric tons of shrimp per year.
