Br. Birkeland in Austevoll, western Norway, delivered good results in the last financial year, with the turnover of NOK 431 million (€51.4 million/$69.9 million) for the parent company yielding a profit of NOK 105.6 million (€12.6 million/$17.1 million) for the year.
The bottom line was particularly good for the marine farming section last year, with an operating profit of NOK 77 million (€9.2 million/$12.5 million) from turnover of NOK 295 million (€35.2 million/$47.9 million).
The result was especially uplifting compared with 2012, when Kobbevik og Furuholmen Oppdrett ended up with losses (see graph below).
