Atlantic Shrimpers Limited Nigerian trawlers achieved Friend of the Sea (FOS) certification for black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon); its Prim7stars brand can now display the FOS sustainability seal of approval.
Atlantic Shrimpers has operated in Nigeria since 1996. It now operates 70 fishing trawlers and is the largest fishing company in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa.
Atlantic Shrimpers Limited and Primstar B.V. are producers and exporters of frozen sea products from Nigeria, exporting to Europe, the United States and the Far East, and also provide seafood for the domestic market.
“We are proud to have obtained the FOS certification," said Kamlesh Kabra, CEO of Atlantic Shrimpers Limited, "a recognition which once more highlights our efforts towards the preservation of the marine habitat.”
