Ending months of speculation, Cooke Aquaculture announced Thursday that it has purchased Fjord Seafood’s subsidiary Atlantic Salmon of Maine. The acquisition includes two hatcheries, one processing plant and 14 marine sites.

While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Cooke Aquaculture said that the purchase will bring in $20 million in sales. The St. George, New Brunswick company has annual sales of more than $100 million and operations in six provinces and states.
