According to the IntraFish Price Tracker, fresh Norwegian Atlantic cod prices increased by more than a quarter at the end of June and beginning of July -- good news for producers.
In week 28 of the year (July 8-14) prices for fresh cod were standing NOK 25.41 (€3.20/$4.20) per kilo.
Two weeks earlier however, in week 26 (June 24-30), prices were at NOK 20.09 (€2.50/$3.40) per kilo – representing an increase of NOK 5.32 (€0.67/$0.89) or 26.4 percent over the two weeks.
