Amidst deep Alaska budget cuts, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) International Program Director Hannah Lindoff had tough choices to make -- including proposing shutting the doors to one of the offices.

She and several other experts brought the ASMI board of directors up to speed on the current and future situation during a meeting on Thursday.

Lindoff said her team fought tooth and nail to keep most of the offices open, since "it would be very difficult for us to restart a program if we were to take one away," she explained.

One
