Earlier this week the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) board of directors held a special meeting to brainstorm ideas to sell the historic volume of pink salmon caught in Alaska this season.

To help tackle the potential surplus, ASMI began working with the United States government and its efforts with the global food air program, said Tyson Fick, communication director for ASMI, told IntraFish.
