ASMI exec says Palin departure won't impact Alaska seafood

One of the main pillars of the Alaskan economy, the sudden departure of the governor won't alter anything happening in the sector, ASMI Executive Director Ray Riutta told IntraFish.

"None. It shouldn’t make any difference," he said.

Palin will be replaced by Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who Riutta called a "a friend to the Alaska seafood industry."

Palin had been featured in a number of ASMI promotions, including some videos, but Riutta said none are being used now, and won't be in the future.
