SalMar-affiliated Icelandic salmon farming company Arnarlax is in M&A discussions with several Icelandic companies, including "our closest neighbors" Fjardalax CEO Kristian Matthiasson told IntraFish.
"There are negotiations," Matthiasson said. "We have been talking to [Fjardalax] and we're also looking at different consolidation alternatives but nothing is complete on any part yet. We have to see how it develops."
Fjardalax "is one of several companies" Arnarlax is considering, he said.
"We are always looking at the best development for our company and when something comes up and something is in our neighborhood and backyard it's big but that doesn't mean anything is firm and committed," he addded.
