Chilean salmon farming company AquaChile found a positive reactions for ISA virus in one of its 20 cages during a normal and routine sampling process.
The virus was discovered in Centro Tránsito 2 of the 21B neighborhood in the Aysen region.
The fish in the affected cage averaged around 2 kilos, the company said.
