Andrew Marr International Ltd. has acquired Fastnet Fish Group, creating one of the largest wholesale seafood businesses in the UK, with revenues estimated in excess of £200 million (US$357 million), the company announced Monday. AMI, whose headquarters are at Hessle, near Hull, purchased Murray Vernon Holdings’ controlling interest in Grimsby-based Fastnet as part of the takeover.
The new firm will deal mainly in the wholesale trade of round white fish, fillets, langoustine and shrimp.
Fastnet will be run independently by its founder Peter Doswell and executives Paul Birch, Andrew Weightman, Peter Hamling and Tony Osborne.
