Marine Harvest will have to dig deep to remain a contender to win Cermaq's EWOS, Anders Gjendemsjo, analyst at Norne Securities, told website E24.

He predicted Marine Harvest will now make a "honest attempt" to acquire the feed producer in order to realize the dream of an integrated feed and aquaculture giant.

The two private equity firms Altor and Bain Capital offered NOK 6.2 billion (€813.3 million/$1.1 billion) for EWOS in a bid submitted earlier in June.

Following the expiration of the offer period for Marine Harvest's bid last Friday, the company sold the majority of its shares in Cermaq.

"The
