The name ”Marine Harvest” conjures up an image of a company whose core activity is focused on harvesting from the marine environment, and the word "harvesting" is associated with aquaculture. This also sends out a message that the company will be targeting more than salmon and trout. There are after all, many other species ideal for industrialization.
Even though Pan Fish led the merger of Fjord Seafood and Marine Harvest, it would not have been particularly wise to call the new merged company "Pan Fish."
