Birds Eye, the UK brand of Iglo Foods Group, Thursday said its entire cod and haddock fish finger range has achieved Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification.
From September, all cod and haddock fish fingers sold in the United Kingdom will carry the MSC label.
The move will switch 5,200 metric tons of fish products to sustainably certified produce in the UK market and increase the total weight of MSC-labeled products sold by 20 percent .
The UK consumes over 185 million Birds Eye cod and haddock fish fingers each year.
