Alfesca is among Europe’s biggest buyers of salmon, purchasing around 23,000 tons of salmon annually. The fish are smoked and sold as processed products.
This is lucrative business as long as salmon prices are reasonably predictable. But if they rise too much, the processors take it on the chin.
