Grimsby-based seafood processor Mariner Foods Limited, a supplier of products for Aldi’s “Specially Selected” range, has entered administration.
Sarah Burge of Kingsbridge Corporate Solutions has been appointed administrator of the company, which is owned by Sealincs.
In a statement sent to IntraFish, Kingsbridge Corporate Solutions said Mariner Foods Limited, which operated from Athenian Way on Great Grimsby Business Park, has “ceased to trade.”
The company opened in 2012 and invested heavily in its factory, equipment and facilities, but in the last few months a loss of customers and a lack of supplies of key, strategic raw materials led to a reduced turnover leaving the business unsustainable, it said.
