Silver Bay Seafoods is a relatively new fish processing company -- it's just five years old in an industry that dates back for generations.
Still, with sales in excess of $100 million (€70 million) and, as co-founder Rob Zuanich told IntraFish, seeing "good strong growth in each year of operation," it can serve as a lesson for traditionalists: Doing business differently can pay off.
Silver Bay is a corporation owned by fishermen, the majority of whom reside in Alaska. All of the company's three facilities are in southeastern Alaska and Prince William Sound and fishermen are the crux of the company.
