Alaska seafood exports total $2.48 billion

Alaska seafood sector shipped 855,225 metric tons of product abroad last year, compared to 842,427 metric tons in 2005, according to an ASMI breakdown of exports numbers released last month by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and supplied to IntraFish by ASMI on Tuesday.

The value of those exports totaled $2.48 billion (€1.89 billion), unchanged from 2005, ASMI said.
