Alaska pollock harvesters are seeing good returns on their first few trips, with roe recovery at about 3.8 percent on 800-gram fish in the northeast Bering Sea fishing area and about 2.5 percent roe recovery on 600-gram fish in the northwest, industry sources in the Alaska pollock harvesting sector told IntraFish.

Weather has cut down on some of the days fishermen have been able to harvest, however, with 81,838 metric tons in landings, down 30.2 percent from 117,248 metric tons at the same time last year, according to statistics from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
