Alaska state legislators have turned up the pressure on Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) Executive Director Alexa Tonkovich to move the six ASMI positions currently located in Seattle to Alaska.

At a hearing Wednesday, Tonkovich presented ASMI's legislative intent report to the Alaska State Legislature Finance Committee.

Committee members, Senator Lyman Hoffman in particular, pressed Tonkovich to convince ASMI's board to move all positions to Alaska.

Last year, the legislature urged ASMI to move all positions to Alaska by 2019.

Currently, six domestic foodservice and retail marketing positions are located in Seattle.
