The Alaska $6 billion (€4.5 billion) commercial seafood industry -- including the top Alaska salmon, pollock, and crab producers -- is calling on the federal government to respond to Russia's ban on US seafood imports and is calling on Russia to end its ban.
Industry representatives said a US ban on Russian seafood imports would send a message to President Vladimir Putin.
Those endorsing the ban include Alaska General Seafoods, Alyeska Seafoods, Icicle Seafoods, North Pacific Seafoods, Ocean Beauty Seafoods, Peter Pan Seafoods, Trident Seafoods, UniSea, Westward Seafoods, and the members of the Alaska Bering Sea Crabbers.
