Aker Seafoods CEO Yngve Myhre is in the same position Fjord Marin CEO Paul Birger Torgnes was 10 years ago: his company is launching an aquaculture start-up.
Torgnes, a co-founder of Fjord Seafood, started up Fjord Marin in 2004, where he's pursued, among other things, cod-farming development.
Now, he's looking for a partner, and thinks Aker Seafarms -- with nine cod-farming licenses and ambitions to grow -- could fit the bill.
If a tie-up does take place, Myhre would gain an executive who has valuable experience in organizing early consolidation in a young industry.
