Norway-based Aker BioMarine agreed to sell Epax, its joint venture with investment firm Lindsay Goldberg, Trygg Pharma Group, has agreed to sell its omega-3 business to FMC Corporation for about $345 million, reported Market Watch.
The acquisition includes Epax's two production facilities in Norway and the United Kingdom.
"This is an exciting time for our Epax business, employees and customers," said Epax CEO Ola Snove. "We believe FMC is the right owner to take this business forward, given its technological and manufacturing expertise with marine-sourced inputs, its long operating history in Norway and the UK, and its strong foundation in high-value ingredients for the food and pharmaceutical markets."
