A new MSC client for Alaska's salmon fishery?

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) could have a new client for the Alaska salmon fishery.

Sources tell IntraFish the Purse Seine Vessels Owners Association (PSVOA) board approved a motion this week to takeover the MSC clientship for Alaska's salmon fisheries.

 by the Wild Fish Conservancy, the Watershed Watch Salmon Society, Skeena Wild Conservation Trust and Raincoast Conservation Foundation to the proposed MSC recertification of the Alaska salmon fishery.

Seattle-based PSVOA is an organization of fishermen who operate purse seiners largely involved in the Alaska salmon fisheries.
