Diversified Communications, which operates the Boston and Brussels seafood shows, on Thursday announced newly revised dates for its Boston event -- one of the most important annual gatherings for the seafood industry.

The Seafood Expo North America and Seafood Processing North America will be held Sept. 23 and 24 at its normal location of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

The two-day event, which will be held in Halls B and C, will be shorter than usual, Diversified said, but the event will still include a three-day conference program of speakers.

Diversified postponed the Boston show, which was to take place March 15-17 as concerns over coronavirus began to spread.

The group also postponed the Brussels seafood show, Seafood Expo Global, which was slated to be held later this month. The group has made no formal announcement for new dates for that event, but suggested June 23-25 as potential dates for that show.

The event is slated to move to Barcenlona in 2021.

Liz Plizga, group vice president for event organizer Diversified Communications, said the September dates for Boston were chosen based on feedback from attendees and exhibitors.

In mid-March, the company selected two new potential dates for the Boston event, and conducted a survey across the industry for input.
