Norwegian salmon farmer Grieg Seafood is under suspicion of an infectious salmon anemia (ISA) outbreak at its Laholmen site in Norway's Nordkapp municipality.
The company notified the Norwegian Food Safety Authority on Jan. 14 of the possibility and will conduct more tests at the site.
The results are expected to come out early next week, said Roger Pedersen of Grieg Seafood Finnmark.
The company stopped all harvesting at the site pending the test results.
"If ISA is confirmed, we will harvest according to the correct procedures," the company said.
