Following a controversial time for the Icelandic group, Samherji issued a letter to employees, released on Dec. 23, in which acting CEO Bjorgulfur Johannsson reassured them that the internal investigations are "progressing well," with the possibility of results coming out early in 2020.

The company is undergoing an internal investigation in the wake of bribery allegations made by former managing director in Namibia, Johannes Stefansson. Samherji is also in talks with Icelandic authorities while investigations in Namibia are ongoing.

"I know some of your wanted Samherji to respond more strongly to the allegations against the company," the statement reads.
