America's Finest, a 264-foot factory trawler built for US harvester Fishermen's Finest in Washington state's Dakota Creek shipyard, has embarked on its first sea trial.

Its builder Dakota Creek Industries, posted photos and video of the ship departing its dock Tuesday.

The ship was finally allowed to set sail following a bipartisan agreement earlier this month to pass the Coast Guard reauthorization bill, which includes a waiver to allow the newly built America's Finest vessel to fish in American waters.
