Owner of Alaska seafood processor Peter Pan invests in land-based salmon farming startup

Rodger May, owner and chief growth officer of Alaska salmon processor Peter Pan Seafood and former owner of US salmon farmer American Gold, is investing an undisclosed sum in land-based salmon farmer LocalCoho.

Joining May in the multimillion-dollar investment is Per Heggelund, who in 1998 founded land-based coho salmon egg supplier AquaSeed, which was eventually sold to what is now land-based trout producer Riverence and is owned by Hollywood movie producer David E. Kelley. In 2020, Riverence purchased Idaho closed-containment trout producer Clear Springs.
