Ian Roberts, director of communications for Norwegian salmon farmer Mowi's operations in Scotland, Ireland and Canada, was elected the new chair of the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance (CAIA) board of directors at the group's annual meeting last week.
He succeeds Jennifer Woodland of Nuu-chah-nulth Seafood Limited Partnership, who stepped down after almost three years and now serves as past chair.
Additionally, Amedee Savoie of New Brunswick, Canada, oyster producer La Maison BeauSoleil and Cyrus Singh of the First Nation k'awat'si Development Corporation were elected to the group's executive committee.
