Chilean salmon producer Blumar will plow on alone in the Asian market after Yadran and Marine Farm became the latest partners to quit the New World Currents (NWC) joint venture.

Blumar will continue to target markets in the region under the name of Blumar Asia.

"Yadran and Marine Farm decided to leave NWC owing to low demand from China since the start of the pandemic," Blumar Commercial Director Daniel Montoya told IntraFish.

"Blumar decided to continue with the commercial office in Shanghai, which will now be called Blumar Asia and be in charge of our sales on the Asian continent."
