The firm has been buying increased volumes of Alaskan pink and chum salmon, as well as farmed Canadian salmon, as it find sources of fish to compensate for the drop from Chile, Managing Director Philippe Barbe told IntraFish.

This year, the company bought 3,000 metric tons of pink and chum and plans to increase this next year. It will boost volumes from Canada, with plans in place to buy around 800 metric tons of blocks.

Barbe lived in Canada earlier in his career, so has contacts in the industry from then.
