Danish whitefish giant Espersen is closing its plant in Fredericia, Denmark, and moving its production to Poland, Klaus Nielsen, CEO of Espersen, confirmed to IntraFish.
The move is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and around 125 employees are expected to lose their jobs.
The plant in Fredericia has for several years implemented a number of efficiency measures in a bid to maintain competitiveness However, there is still a significant cost reduction for the group in moving production to Poland where labor costs are cheaper.
