The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries sent Norway Royal Salmon and Aker a letter saying it hopes to approve "one or more development permits" for the companies' offshore salmon farming project.
The two companies applied for 15 development permits for submersible offshore cages based on offshore technology.
The letter states that the Directorate of Fisheries seeks they prepare a design for the project as well as include a list of relevant legislation and standards to be applied, how these should be used and why they were chosen.
