You could never accuse Brazilian tilapia producer Geneseas of lacking ambition.

From a humble start as a small tilapia seller in 2003 it has set itself a string of challenging targets and now farms 8,000 metric tons of fish in 800 cages as part of a vertically integrated operation, with a staff of more than 5,400 people.

Its latest achievement is to become the first Brazilian producer to snag Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification and it plans to use it to open doors in new markets and enable an aggressive expansion plan, tripling production volumes.
