Seattle-based Orca Bay Seafoods announced it is releasing a new line of wild-caught fish fillets in varying flavors — a new line the company said will help solve two of the industry’s most common packaging problems.

The retail products, which include 5-oz portions of wild-caught keta salmon and Pacific cod in flavors such as Maple Bourbon and Chili Lime, will place traditional packaging and print information directly onto the vacuum-sealed pack.

“It’s eliminating the outer packaging and reducing the waste,” Orca Bay Marketing and Communications Manager Lilani Estacio told Seafood International, adding that the move is an effort from the 30-year-old company to increase environmentally friendly practices.
