Online US grocery sales for home delivery and store pickup in April reached a new record of $5.3 billion (€4.9 billion) for a 30-day period, a 37 percent increase over March sales, according to a Brick Meets Click/Symphony RetailAI Online Grocery Survey conducted April 22-25.

April's sales growth was driven by a 33 percent increase in the total number of online orders and a 3 percent increase in order size from $82 (€76) to $85 (€78) as households continue to stock up on essential products, the group said in a press statement.
