Singaporean lab-grown seafood producer Shiok Meats this month introduced its first-ever cultured lobster meat as part of a special tasting event.

A cell-based lobster gazpacho and lobster terrine were served at the exclusive tasting event held at Innovate 360 in November. Last March Shiok Meats first launched its shrimp prototype, and in September, aquaculture-focused investment firm Aqua-Spark plowed capital into the company as part of a $12.6 million (€10.5 million) Series A round.

Also this month the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore Polytechnic (SP) to jointly advance food innovation, research, and training in the cell-based meat and seafood sector.
