Chinese consumers' mistrust of imported seafood after multiple discoveries of COVID-19 traces on imported products is likely to create opportunities for companies targeting the Asian powerhouse nation -- provided they pivot away from unprocessed items.

"The concerns of customers regarding raw seafood will not disappear in a short time," Xue Yan, head of international procurement at Chinese e-commerce retailer Chunbo, said during the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute's (ASMI) Alaska Seafood Global Tour webinar staged from Brazil last week.
