Ish Food's plant-based shrimp could be launched in major restaurants in the United States soon, including Red Lobster, under a new partnership agreement with Thai Union.

As the a key owner in Red Lobster, the largest seafood restaurant chain in the world, the announcement that Thai Union, through its branded seafood subsidiary Chicken of the Sea, is partnering with Ish Food raises the tantalizing prospect of plant-based seafood hitting the chain's menus for the first time ever.

Thai Union, one of the world's largest shrimp processors and distributors, has a major slice of the shrimp supply to US foodservice, particularly since it acquired the Red Lobster stake in 2020.
