US-based Norwegian salmon supplier Storm Seafood is launching a new salmon poke product this week, and already the company is filling its first orders.
Storm Seafood President Peter Gati said the company started considering this product last year at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) expo.
"We have a stand there every year and the people coming by were all interested in buying salmon for poke," he said.
"We didn't know too much about what it was so we did some research."
As the seafood industry is quickly learning, poke originates in Hawaii and its popularity is spreading across the country and the globe.
